More oppos need to watch RC racing. It’s one of the most hectic and intense forms of motorsport I’ve ever seen.

Those buggys are crazy. They seem to turn and brake as well in the air as they do on the ground.

That was pretty awesome!

European Astro & Carpet tracks are nuts how fast they are, at that point they’re running Touring Cars with more suspension. The Worlds were nuts fast as well, I personally could never keep up with racing on those tracks.

I didn’t think R/C cars had brakes
?

Well.... It depends. The ones that are gas or nitro for sure have brakes. Some people run electric setups with a brake to keep motor temps low. If it’s just electric, the ESC will handle braking through the motor.

I would love to have this in my house.

Okay that was more impressive than f1

Those are electric. They have dynamic braking using the ESC and motor.
These appear to be electric 4x4 buggies, which are exceptionally controllable (and not at all forgiving).

I used to do off road RC racing, but I don’t have a track nearby anymore. It’s a blast, but it is pretty expensive to keep cars in race ready shape.

I have never seen a carpet track before. We all race on damp clay tracks (generally indoor) out in this end of the country/world. We run the same kinds of cars, of course. The best clay I’ve ever seen at a track, strongly approved of by a world champion (Kinwald), is at Intermountain R/C Raceway in Magna, UT.
It’d be weird to race on something that didn’t leave a little dirt in your car. Mind you, a well-kept modern track with a mister system will be pretty clean, especially if blown/swept regularly...

4x4 buggies. They’re amazing, but very challenging to drive smoothly.

I have seen it in real life. Some of those setups are crazy.

I tried to get a nitro touring car group going locally many years ago... everyone wanted to do trucks and buggies on dirt :( I did have one freind with a another 4wd nitro touring car though, and we wold do ice racing in the winter with home made spikes tires (carpet tacks were the best ballance of weight, sharpness and grip).... i dropped it down an ice test hole once... luckily it was only a few feet deep and i could reach the antenna and pull it up... it ran fine after a good diassembly and overnight by the radiator ;)

I own one and used to race it. Definitely a lot of fun.
